Electric Bikes, E Bikes and Electric Bicycles

You may see the terms electric bike, e‑bike or electric bicycle used in different places. They all describe a bicycle that uses an electric motor to provide assistance while you pedal, making riding easier – especially on hills or longer journeys.

While the terminology varies, the goal is the same: a more comfortable and enjoyable cycling experience.

Explore Our Electric Bike Range

We specialise exclusively in electric bikes and carefully select models designed for everyday use, comfort and performance. Our range covers three main riding styles:

Electric Town Bikes

Designed for commuting, shopping trips and everyday riding, electric town bikes prioritise comfort and ease of use. With upright riding positions and smooth assistance, they’re ideal for local journeys and getting around with less effort.

Are Electric Bikes Suitable for Men and Women?

Electric bikes are designed to suit different riding styles, body shapes and levels of experience, rather than being specific to men or women.

What matters most is:

  • Comfort and fit
  • Frame style (for example, step‑through or crossbar)
  • How and where you plan to ride

We’ll always help you choose an electric bike based on your height, confidence and intended use, rather than generic labels.

We visited the Leisure-life SW shop to enquire about ebikes, was impressed with the range they had on offer and after speaking to Ian about the bikes, who was very helpful and knowledgeable regarding these, we decided to purchase 2 bikes, which we collected after 3 days from purchase, on collection Ian ran through all the workings of the bikes to ensure we knew how to use them, we were very pleased with how friendly and helpful Ian was and would highly recommend this shop.

After a google search this shop came up with having a varied range of different electric bikes and being new to them we wanted to be able to try a few out. Brilliant, friendly service, great advice and not pushy at all. After trying some we went away to have a think and then returned to have a few more little test rides and chose bikes that were perfect for us. Very happy with the service and the amazing ebikes thanks guys.

I love the electric bicycle I bought here a little while ago. The staff were friendly and helpful and practised social distancing. As soon as I tried the bike they recommended for me, I felt comfortable and confident, even though I hadn't ridden a bike at all for some years. The shop is clean and easily accessible. I have now had my free after sales (200 mile) service and a free clean for the bike as well. I would definitely recommend this store.
